Four days from now the Cy Young winner will be annouced. Everyone that knows me knows who I am rooting for and that is R.A. Dickey. He is the clear favorite at the moment but you never know what those writers will do. My prediction for NL Cy Young is as follows:
1. R.A. Dickey NYM
2. Clayton Kershaw LAD
3. Johnny Cueto CIN
4. Matt Cain SF
5. Gio Gonzalez WSH
Clayton Kershaw will get a strong amount of votes and it will be close. I say R.A. Dickey only beats him out by a few points. Cueto had a terrific run but lost it at the end which cost him his chances at winning. Cain has the perfecto underneath his belt which will get him some top votes. Gio had a terrific year but the man just walked entirely too many batters. He could not keep his control.. well...under control.
R.A. had an unbelievable year breaking several records for his team and in MLB. Let's not foget his back to back one hitters. Which in my opinion is harder to do than throwing a no hitter or perfect game but that is just me. So we shall see how it goes and lets hope R.A. takes home a Cy Young award because he clearly deserves it..
